LiveWorkPlay helps the community welcome individuals with intellectual disabilities to live, work, and play as valued citizens (see complete job description link above for additional information about our mandate).
The Employment Supports Coordinator is responsible to develop competitive paid employment opportunities with employers, support members to obtain and maintain employment, provide on-site job coaching, develop natural supports in the workplace by providing training and support to employers and supervisors, and provide on-going supports and follow-up to both employers and LiveWorkPlay members (“members” refers to individuals with intellectual disabilities supported by our agency).
The Employment Supports Coordinator is also responsible to facilitate on-going small group pre-employment preparation groups, individual skill development sessions, communicate with family members and the staff team, work in collaboration with community partners and other agencies, and represent LiveWorkPlay with the community at large. Duties also include supporting other organizational projects such as the Golf Tournament, Auction, Family Fun Nights, professional development, and other projects that may come up throughout the year.
If you are not comfortable going out in the community and meeting new people such as employers or other potential contributors to the LiveWorkPlay mission, this job is not for you.
We are seeking an individual who has a strong service ethic and displays a “can-do” attitude in communicating with members, families, co-workers, supervisors, volunteers and community partners. Applicants should be motivated self-starters who demonstrate initiative, the ability to build trusting relationships, and are committed to the highest professional standards.
We are looking for individuals driven to success and making a difference within their community. Join a team of professionals dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities!
Salary: $45,000 per year with health and dental benefits plan, or cash in lieu of benefits. Vacation time in year one is 10 days with conditions. This is eligible to increase to 20 days in year two. The timing of staff vacations at LiveWorkPlay is negotiated to minimize disruption to members.
Qualifications: candidates must have a bachelor or graduate degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. Other equivalent professional training and experience will be considered. A vehicle is required as this position requires frequent travel in the community. Mileage is reimbursed.
