The Innovative LiveWorkPlay Approach To Long-Term Housing For People With Intellectual Disabilities
June 22: Day 46
Friday is coming up so quickly. The days feel like minutes. Everyone is working on decorations, practicing their singing, getting fancy clothes delivered, and trying to get information from the staff about how the evening will go.
Because there wasn't enough going on, April and Richard from CBC's Moving On came to film the second part of the piece they are working on for the show. They came right to LiveWorkPlay headquarters and filmed the end of day routine. Then they went back to Carleton and spent another 5 hours with the group!
It was a really strange night for weather...it felt cool but it was also very humid. The group took a walk down to the river to watch the gophers running around in the rocks and to hang out. Suddenly the storm clouds gathered and it was time to start back, but most people didn't make it.
Richard had to stash his camera under a big rock to keep it dry. Moira, Caroline, and Keenan took shelter in a stand of trees but it didn't really work and they were soaked. Julie and Jen didn't even bother trying to keep dry! They were absolutely drenched but it was all an awful lot of fun.
