May 31: Day 24
Today at SMILE the group talked about cleaning and boundaries. For example, it is each person's business how they choose to keep their room. If they ask for help and advice, then you can give help or advice if you want to. But if they don't ask, then as a peer it is not your business to get involved. Some people identified that they find 5 days a long time to wait for vacuuming, so today the shopping group picked up a dustpan and a special little broom thatworks great on floors or carpets.
Before dinner most people were so pooped from the fitness dancing with Greg at DanceStudios.ca they just chilled out until dinner. Most of the group is going for dinner at 5:30 now because it gets busy at 6:00. Raymond from the University of Ottawa joined the group for dinner. Paul told everyone about the Avril Lavigne book he bought at Chapters. There was warm peach cobbler dessert that was very popular.
After dinner there was tracking, people getting ready to watch hockey, and a bocce ball game (yes, bocce is back!). Jen joined Laura to watch a video of a performance at her church, Paul and Robin were on the second floor lounge watching ET, Rachel, Jenny and John were on the first floor watching Friends, and Fran was set up doing some knitting at the back.
At 8:00 the hockey fans were surprised to find that nobody was watching the hockey game on any of the floors, but by the time they finished looking at all the floors and experimenting with listening on the radio, the first floor TV came free and they settled in at 8:30. The Flames lost a close one, now the series is all tied up.
Moira and Caroline were out all night with their worker Terry, and Warren went to South Keys.
