May 17: Day 10
Julie and Fran were making the rounds to help with tracking. When Julie got to the JR2 suite, Jen, Jenny, Robin, and Rachel were happily sharing a bag of ju-jubes. Julie noticed that the bag was pretty much empty except for a big pile of black ju-jubes.
It turns out that not one member of JR2 likes black ju-jubes but "we plan to feed them to our mothers if they visit." For the record, red and yellow are the officially endorsed JR2 ju-jube flavours.
Raymond and the research team from the University of Ottawa were on site for the first time and it was very smooth. They were welcomed enthusiastically and enjoyed a meal with the group. There was some delicious roast beef tonight, but Paul decided on an alternative (see picture below).
Before leaving a lot of the researchers exchanged phone numbers with participants so they can set up opportunities to visit in future.
After dinner, there were all sorts of plans and people were going everywhere. Robin went to South Keys. Warren and Jenny went there too, but a little later. Ryan and Lucas went to Mike's Pub on campus and found that they were the only ones there!
Ian, Cooper, and John shared that their telephones aren't working properly, so Keenan and Fran tried to track down the problem. The good news is that everyone else's are working just fine. Carleton is going to have to help sort out what's going on with the three that aren't. Ah, patience...so easy to say, so challenging to master.
